Clippers sail past Sabers

The Souhegan High School boys tennis team was swept by Portsmouth Wednesday, 9-0.

Souhegan’s Nick Poulack and Portsmouth’s Iani Stamenov played the closest match of the day at No .1 singles, with Stamenov winning 9-7. The loss drops Souhegan to 6-6 in Division II, while Portsmouth goes to 7-2.

Portsmouth’s Eric Levenson won the No. 2 match, beating Liam Murphy 8-0, while Aaron Espsoito defeated Matt Protzmann 8-6 in the No. 3 match. Bobby Riskalla on at No. 4, knocking off Nate Redington 8-4 and Brett Donnermeyer won the No. 5 match, 8-3 over David Monleon. Pat Duplesis defeated Ben Bacher in the No. 6 match 8-6.

Stamenov and Levenson defeated Poulack and Redington in the No. 1 doubles match, 8-4, and Espsoito and McCarthy won the No. 2 match, 8-1 over Murphy and Protzmann. Riskalla and Donnermeyer won the No. 3 match, beating Bacher and Emmond 8-6.
