Coe-Brown girls hold off Bedford to win D2 outdoor track title

The Coe-Brown Northwood Academy girls track team blew open a close meet late to win the Division II championship Saturday, its first outdoor title in 12 years.

The Coe-Brown Northwood Academy girls track team blew open a close meet late to win the Division II championship Saturday at Milford High School, its first outdoor title in 12 years.

The Bears scored 118 points, overcoming a five-point deficit with a handful of events to go, to finish ahead of second-place Bedford (93 points). Merrimack Valley (69) was third and Lebanon (55) was fourth. Milford (44.5) rounded out the top five.

Hannah Parker led the Bears by finishing first in three events, as the freshman won the 400 (57.71), the 800 (2:19.66) and the 1,600 (4:59.54). Alex Archambault won the 3,200 (11:17.89) and came in third in the 1,600, while Samantha Toscano took first in the long jump (16.11.5) and was second in the triple jump.

Coe-Brown also got second places from Sam Donohue (discus) and Megan Rouillard (javelin) and third places from Jessie Carney (3,200), Kayla Roberts (pole vault) and Alley Savioli (shot put). Jelesa Nelson took fourth in the 100 and Ariel Clachar was sixth in the same event while Katie Scannell took sixth in the 3,200. The Bears also placed in all three relays, finishing second in the 4×400, fourth in the 4×100 and fifth in the 4×800.

Bedford’s Jenny Mara won the high jump (5-2) and the Bulldogs also took first in the 4×100 relay (49.76) and the 4×400 relay (4:04.58). Johanna Celli took second in the 100, the 200 and the 400, while Laura Costes was second in the pole vault and Bedford was second in the 4×800.

Amanda Ouellette finished third in the javelin and Brenna Williams was third in the triple jump. Gwenyth Winship finished fourth in the 800 and Samantha Dee (100 hurdles) and Brooke Hoople (400) both had fifth places. Katie HoSang came in sixth in both the 200 and the 400 and Rachel Allen was sixth in the discus.

Milford got a second place in the 1,600 from Courtney Hawkins while Jessica Krafft was third in the 400 and fourth in the 200 and Hannah Ladeau was third in the 300 hurdles and fourth in the 100 hurdles. The Spartans came in third in the 4×400 relay and sixth in the 4×800 relay.

Hannah Soucy was fourth in the high jump and Brianna Lippitt finished fourth in the pole vault. Morgan Andrews came in sixth in the shot put while Sarah Martineau tied for sixth in the high jump.

Hollis Brookline finished seventh overall with 28 points and got three fourth places from Lindsey Beauregard in the long jump, triple jump and javelin. Meghan Philpot was second in the 800 while Emma Newton had two fifth places in the 1,600 and 3,200. The Cavaliers’ 4×800 relay team also finished fourth.

Souhegan recorded 24 points to finish in a tie for eighth. Isabella Stuopis took second in the shot put and finished fourth in the discus, while Sarah Hurd came in fifth in the high jump. The Sabers also won the 4×800 relay, finishing in 9:50.02.

Lebanon’s Kelly Ludew was a double winner, taking first in the 100 hurdles (15.34) and the 300 hurdles (45.69) while teammate Moriah Morton was first in the javelin (125-1).

Natalie Bilynski of Oyster River won both the 100 (12.43) and the 200 (25.68) while Merrimack Valley’s Julianah Adejuyigbe was first in the shot put (41-0) and the discus (128-5).

Portsmouth’s Sarah Muse won the pole vault, clearing 9-6, and Kennett’s Gracie Ryan took first in the triple jump (35-4).
