Caroline Andy scored the game’s only goal in the 66th minute to give the Concord High School girls soccer team a 1-0 win over Nashua South on Monday.

The win moves the Crimson Tide to 3-2-1 in Division I, while the Panthers fall to 4-3.

Adaeze Obinelo made eight saves for South, while Concord goalie Diamond Chaplin finished with six saves. South held a 14-10 advantage in shots, but according to South coach Kelly Gabree, the Panthers “missed numerous free kicks and had opportunities to capitalize.  Both teams were competitive, aggressive and put a good fight right until the the last whistle blew.”

Concord’s team captains put together a bake sale for both teams to participate in throughout Monday’s action. The game was dedicated to former Nashua coach Manfred Beyer, who died early this month. The teams raised over $400, which will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
