MANCHESTER – The Derryfield School boys lacrosse team went Friday’s game against Windham hoping that its young defense could stop an offense that was flying high this season.
After seeing some big momentum swings by opponents in the second half, the Cougars showed their heading in the right direction against the Jaguars.
Derryfield allowed just one goal over the final 34 minutes of the game and the offense did its part, as the Cougars handed Windham its first loss of the year, 13-5, in a Division II contest. The goal total for the Jaguars was well below the 16 goals they’d averaged heading into the game and was eight below their previous low.
