MANCHESTER – When the Derryfield School boys lacrosse team got the ball rolling in the first quarter Friday against Keene, there was no stopping the Cougars.

One goal led to another, and another, and another, and while the Blackbirds were able to keep things relatively in check the rest of the way, the damage was already done.

Derryfield jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the game’s first 12 minutes, including a run of four goals in two minutes, and never looked back in a 16-1 win over Keene in Division II action.
