MANCHESTER – The Derryfield School boys lacrosse team is learning how to win games, and through five contests this season, the Cougars have a formula that’s worked so far.
Get a comfortable lead, either in the first half or third quarter, and then ride the defense to the end.
That’s what Derryfield did again Friday night against Portsmouth, getting out to a 7-1 lead in the first half and holding on long enough for a 7-6 win over the Clippers in a rematch of the last two Division II championship games. The win is the 58th in a row for the Cougars.
