Derryfield, Winnacunnet head into week tied in NHHSS Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll
The boys lacrosse teams from the Derryfield School and Winnacunnet High School go into their home-and-home series this week tied in this week’s NHHSS Coaches Poll.
The Cougars and Warriors will meet on Tuesday in Hampton and Thursday in Manchester in their first games since Derryfield beat Winnacunnet in the 2019 Division II championship game. The Cougars come into the week off two wins over St. Thomas while the Warriors split two games with Portsmouth before falling to Exeter last Saturday.
Bishop Guertin remained in the No. 1 spot, as it has all season, following a win over Nashua South and two wins over Nashua North. The Cardinals will play two with Salem this week to finish the regular season.
Exeter picked up two wins over Pinkerton last week and both remained in the No. 2 and 3 spots, respectively. The Blue Hawks will play two games against Bedford this week while the Astros have two against Londonderry. The Lancers remained at No. 4 after picking up a win over Souhegan.
Portsmouth stayed at No. 5 following its split with Winnacunnet and the Clippers will face Dover twice to end the year while Bedford came in at No. 6 after being idle for the week. South dropped to No. 9 after a busy week that saw the Panthers drop a game to Bishop Guertin while picking up two wins over Merrimack. After a game at Souhegan Monday, South will face North twice.
Hollis Brookline held on to the final spot in the poll after beating Milford twice last week and finish the regular season with two games against Alvirne.
