The Dover High School girls lacrosse team saw its long winning streak come to an end last week, but that didn’t drop the Green Wave in this week’s NHHSSports Coaches Poll.
In fact, Dover moved up a spot in this week’s top 10, going up to No. 4 for the first time this season, despite dropping its first game since the opening week of the regular season. Now, with the final week upon us, the Green Wave have a shot at a top seed in the Division I playoffs as well.
Bedford remained at the top of the poll for the third week in a row, collecting all of the first-place votes. The Bulldogs finish up their regular-season schedule by hosting Merrimack on Monday, going to Londonderry on Wednesday and then hosting Newburyport (Mass.) on Friday night.
Portsmouth and Bishop Guertin once again received all second- and third-place votes, respectively. The Clippers finish up by hosting Concord on Monday, going to Dover on Wednesday and hosting Souhegan on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Cardinals will travel to Franklin (Mass.) on Tuesday before hosting Nashua North on Wednesday.
After sitting at No. 5 for two weeks, Dover takes over that No. 4 spot and will travel to Souhegan on Monday before Wednesday’s finale against Portsmouth. Nashua South switched spots with the Green Wave, dropping to fifth. The Panthers wrap up the regular season with a trip to Exeter on Monday, a home game against Keene-Monadnock on Thursday and a trip to Merrimack on Friday.
Bow held on to the No. 6 spot for the third week in a row and the Falcons will end the regular season with games at Trinity on Monday and at home against Pelham on Wednesday. Souhegan held on at No. 7, and this week, will host Dover on Monday before trips to Pinkerton on Wednesday and Portsmouth on Thursday.
Pinkerton, which stayed at No. 8, goes on the road to face Nashua North on Monday and finishes out the scheduled hosting Souhegan on Wednesday.
Hanover traded spots with Windham, as the Bears moved up to ninth and the Jaguars went to 10th. Hanover goes to Manchester Memorial-West on Monday before hosting Pembroke on Wednesday, while Windham will play Goffstown on Monday night at Saint Anselm College and then go to Keene-Monadnock on Wednesday.
