Dover remains at the top of the NHHSSports Field Hockey Coaches Poll to start the fall

The Dover High School field hockey team received four of 13 first-place votes and held off Exeter to take the top spot in the coaches poll to begin the 2024 season. The Green Wave open the regular season Wednesday, when they host Goffstown.
Exeter, which also received four first-place votes to come in at No. 2, will begin the year Friday at Keene. Windham, last year’s runner-up in D1, got two first-place votes to finish third and will start the season by hosting Pinkerton on Friday.
John Stark, the defending two-time D2 champs, came in at No. 4 while Bedford received three first-place votes to round out the top five. The Generals don’t begin their season until Sept. 6 at Derryfield while Bedford hosts Salem on Friday to start the fall.
Pinkerton came in at No. 6 and Bishop Guertin opens the year at No. 7, as the Cardinals will go to Timberlane for their opener on Friday. Souhegan, which took the No. 8 spot, begins its season Friday at Hanover.
Oyster River, which hosts Laconia on Friday, came in at No. 9 while Londonderry, which opens at home against Merrimack, finished out the top 10.
