Football Roundup: Bedford shuts out Portsmouth-Oyster River
Here are results from this weekend’s high school football action.
Jack Maye threw three touchdown passes and the Bedford High School football team rolled to a 35-0 win Saturday over Portsmouth-Oyster River.
Maye was 15 of 21 passing for 216 yards with two scoring passes to Bennett Matthews (eight catches, 85 yards) and another to Brody Helton (four, 75).
Helton also ran for 101 yards and another score and Dustin Wescott had two carries for 20 yards and a touchdown. Noah Cassamassino added 36 yards on the ground and Peter Suozzo had three catches for 56 yards.
Bedford’s defense added four takeaways, with Matthews, Suozzo and Byrcen D’Urso each collecting an interception while Jake Scheff had a fumble recovery.
The game was a rematch of last year’s Division I semifinals, also won by the Bulldogs (6-0 in D1, 7-0 overall, No. 1 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll).

Ryan Rocheleau and Mike Landmesser each had two touchdowns to lead the Broncos past the Crimson Tide on Friday night.
Rocheleau caught four passes for 122 yards and two scoring receptions, with one of his touchdowns going for 80 yards. Landmesser added 132 yards on the ground and his two scores.
Shawn Boudreau had six tackles, including a sack, and hit a 30-yard field goal.
