Football Roundup: Manchester Memorial gets back in the win column
Here are some results from the weekend’s high school football action.
Jacob Schuff did a whole lot with just a little and the Manchester Memorial High School football team bounced back from its first loss with a 46-28 win over Nashua South on Friday.
Schuff ran for 253 yards and four touchdowns on just eight carries to help lead the Crusaders (6-1, No. 6 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) to the win a week after dropping their first game of the year on a last-second field goal to Winnacunnet.
Johan Quintero Salazar and Ledum Adumene also had rushing touchdowns for Memorial, which broke open a close game in the fourth quarter.
Cody Jackson led South (5-2, No. 3) by completing 25 of 40 passes for two touchdowns, one to Colton Levesque (10 catches, 185 yards) and one to Josh Tripp (five, 68). Jackson also had a rushing touchdown as did Sam Levine, who also had 60 yards on 14 carries.
No. 7 Windham 28, Manchester Central 0
Adrian Bergman threw two touchdown passes and the Jaguars defense recorded its third shutout of the season.
Bergman was 6 of 12 for 75 yards and also had an interception, but threw touchdown passes to Alex Blanco (three catches, 41 yards) and Sam Roidoulis (one, 22).
Brady Clementi ran for 113 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and Bergman also had 39 yards on the ground.
Alvirne 25, Timberlane 22
Mike Landmesser ran for 178 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries to lead the Broncos past the Owls.
Jordan Reilly added 77 yards and a touchdown on 5 of 13 passing, connecting with Quintin Tetreault for a 32-yard score for Alvirne (2-5).
Timberlane (3-4) got 126 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries from Giovanni Recesso. The Owls also got a 55-yard touchdown reception from Adrian Carrasquillo to Michael Santosuosso.
