Football Roundup: Plymouth rumbles to win over Trinity (video)
Here are results from Week 3 of the high school football season.
PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth High School football team used its ground game to score on seven of its eight possessions in a 46-14 win Saturday afternoon against Trinity.
Aside from a kneel down to end the first half, the Bobcats (3-0 in Division II East) capped every drive with a touchdown run while picking up all but 11 of their 494 yards on the ground.
Ben Valenti led Plymouth with 213 yards and two touchdowns rushing while Brodhi Rousseau added 113 yards and a score. Cooper Legacy (28 rush yards), Taylor Rousseau (28), Izak Jolin (24) and Cavan Sanborn (7) each had a touchdown while Domenic Ciotti had 56 yards on the ground.
Sanborn also completed his lone pass of the game, connecting with Legacy for an 11-yard pickup.
Trinity (2-1) got on the board on the opening drive of the second half and then recovered an onside kick to score again. But down 25-14 with 10:23 left in the third quarter, the Pioneers were unable to stop the Bobcats.
Ollie Service was 13 of 26 passing for 173 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 25 yards and a score. Connor Bishop had eight catches for 140 yards and a touchdown while Davey Durepo had five catches for 33 yards.
Manchester West 41, ConVal 13
Gio Doria threw two touchdown passes in his return from injury to help lead the Blue Knights to a win over the Cougars.
Doria, who was 7 of 10 for 149 yards, came in on the Blue Knights’ third possession and led three touchdown drives. Manny Mendoza started for West (3-0) and was 6 of 6 passing for 64 yards.
Kingston Green ran for 70 yards and two touchdowns and Liam King had 44 yards and two scores on the ground. Myles Whiter had four catches for 102 yards and a touchdown while Jarome Henert caught four passes for 59 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 36 yards.
Kurt Dean had a hand in both ConVal (1-2) scores, as he ran for a touchdown and threw a 2-yard scoring pass to Max Erickson. Dean ran for 60 yards and was 4 of 6 passing for 26 yards.
Division I
No. 1 Bedford 26, Thornton Academy 14
The Bulldogs trailed 14-0 midway through the third quarter but rallied for 26 unanswered points to get the win over the Golden Trojans, from Sacco, Maine.
Brody Helton finished with 180 yards rushing on 16 carries, scoring two touchdowns on the ground, while catching three passes for 31 yards and another score. Winston Huynh added 30 yards and a touchdown rushing.
Bennett Matthews was 10 of 14 passing for 117 yards and the scoring toss to Helton , while also rushing for 100 yards on 14 carries. Brycen D’Urso had five catches for 73 yards and had an interception on defense.

Merrimack 14, Nashua North 10
Maverick Torres threw two touchdown passes, including a 21-yarder to Shea Egan with 4:18 left in the game to help the Tomahawks get their first win.
Torres also connected on a 29-yard scoring throw to Stephen Doyle with 29 seconds left before halftime. The two also connected on a two-point conversion after Egan’s touchdown to give Merrimack (1-2) a four-point lead.
North (2-1) got a 40-yard field goal from Marco Raposo to take a 3-0 lead with 10:14 left in the second quarter. The Titans trailed 6-3 at halftime, but retook the lead on a 4-yard touchdown run by Kobe Perry.

Timberlane 28, Spaulding 7
Giovanni Recesso ran for two touchdowns and had two-point conversion to help the Owls to a win over the Red Raiders.
Recesso had 53 yards rushing while Adrian Carrasquillo had 47 yards and a score on the ground and Dylan Kudym added 44 rushing yards and a touchdown. Tucker Kerem led Timberlane (1-2) with 61 yards as the Owls had 224 of their 286 yards on the ground.
Matthew Fitzgerald was 7 of 9 passing for 62 yards, with Michael Santosuosso catching five passes for 54 yards.
Division III
Lebanon 21, Fall Mountain 8
The Wildcats struggled to slow down the Raiders, allowing over three hundreds, in a road loss.
Alton Young scored the lone touchdown for Fall Mountain (1-2), catching a 6-yard TD pass from Max Wyman in the second quarter. Paul Young ran in the two-point conversion to make it 14-8, but the Wildcats couldn’t find the end zone again.
Wyman finished 8 of 17 for 85 yards with the score and two interceptions. Paul Young had a team-high 38 yards rushing and Alton Young had four catches for 37 yards.
