The last two years, the Bishop Guertin High School boys lacrosse team has started and ended the year at the top of the NHHSSports Preseason Coaches Poll.
The last two years, the Bishop Guertin High School boys lacrosse team has started and ended the year at the top of the NHHSSports Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Cardinals are off to a good start to make it three in a row, getting all 11 first-place votes to finish ahead of Exeter for the No. 1 spot in the first poll of the 2023 season. Bishop Guertin has also beaten Exeter in each of the last two Division I finals.
Pinkerton, which reached the final four a year in D1 and has also been the only other team to hold the No. 1 spot in the preseason, came in third in the poll. Derryfield came in at No. 4, just two points ahead of Portsmouth at No. 5; the two teams met in last year’s Division II title game, with the Clippers coming out on top.
Bedford comes in at No. 6 and Londonderry takes the seventh spot, while Timberlane, which reached the final four in D2 last year, comes in at No. 8. St. Thomas and Winnacunet, both from D2, round out the top 10, while eight other teams also received votes.
