Girls basketball teams meet at Derryfield for Battle For New England (video)

Sixteen high school girls basketball teams from New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont descended on the Derryfield School for the Battle For New England summer tournament.

The two-day tournament started Friday with pool play before it will finish Saturday with a single-elimination tournament.

Highlights from Friday’s action include:

• Central-West vs. Windham
• North Country Union (Vt.) vs. Oyster River
• Colebrook vs. Dover
• Alvirne vs. Spruce Mountain (Maine)
• Maranacook vs. Trinity
• Milford vs. Londonderry
