Girls Lacrosse Playoff Roundup: Goffstown rallies to get past Kennett (video)

GOFFSTOWN – Sydney Lavoie scored with 1:13 remaining in regulation Thursday to give the Goffstown High School girls lacrosse tean a 9-8 win over Kennett in the Division II quarterfinals.

Mia Brissette assisted on the goal, as she spun away from a defender and found Lavoie in the middle of the Eagles defense for the go-ahead goal. The win sends the No. 3 Grizzlies (10-5) move on to the semifinals for the first time in program history.

Brissette finished with two goals and two assists and Paige Winters had a goal and three assists for Goffstown, while Lavoie and Ella Coletti had two goals and an assist. Coletti’s second goal tied the game with 3:37 remaining after No. 6 Kennett had taken the lead about five minutes before that.

Stella Enman also scored twice for the Grizzlies, who will face No. 2 Winnacunnet at 4 p.m. Saturday at Manchester Memorial High School.

Kennett (10-7) got four goals from Letty Zipf while Myra Johnson also scored twice and Adelyn McAllister and Summer Laine had a goal apiece. The Eagles were making their first ever appearance in the quarterfinals.

No. 1 Timberlane 15, No. 8 Merrimack Valley 5

Rylee Donahue had seven goals, an assist and seven draw controls to help the Owls to a quarterfinal win over the Pride.

Lila Fitzgerald added four goals, three assists, three draw controls and two caused turnovers while Julia Johnson had two goals, two assists, four draw controls and six caused turnovers for Timberlane (16-1). Ava Paul also scored twice and Aubrey Fitzgerald added two assists.

Grace Gerhard, Mia Morrier, Alexa Ring, Kasey Fitzgerald and Mackenzie Norcott also played well for the Owls while goalie Kayla Apitz made six saves.

Timberlane will face No. 5 Hanover at 6 p.m. Saturday at Manchester Memorial High School.

No. 5 Hanover 14, No. 4 Oyster River-Newmarket 9

The Bears advanced to the final four for the sixth year in a row by avenging a regular-season loss to the Bobcats.

Cassidy Loughman had seven goals and an assist and Casey Wilkinson had a goal and four assists to lead Hanover (11-6). Clare Higgins added two goals and two assists while Joia Collins and Iris Chesnut had a goal and an assist apiece.

Lexi Fox and Sally Gaughan each added a goal in the win.

Division III Playoffs

No. 3 St. Thomas 20, No. 6 Coe-Brown 7

Talula Gregg scored eight goals and had three assists to help the Saints to a quarterfinal win over the Bears.

Julia Bryan added six goals and an assist and Annita Parmelee had a goal and five assists for St. Thomas (16-2). Lizzy Holden also scored four goals and Sophia Kelly added a goal.

Charlotte De Tolla, Lucy Broom and Kate Kreycik had an assist apiece. Jules Stowell and Cara Forest played well defensively and Reese Foss made four saves.

Ellie Escabi scored three goals to lead Coe-Brown (11-5) while Avery Keefe had two goals and an assist and Brooke Kozlowski had a goal and two assists. Keefe hits the 200-point mark for her career while Escabi scored her 100th career point.

Rose Bean also scored while Morgan Readel and Molly Skahan had an assist apiece. Hailey Smith finished with seven saves.

No. 2 Hopkinton 16, No. 7 Laconia 6

Maeve Owens scored six goals to help the Hawks hold off the Sachems in the quarterfinals.

Pippa Lang added two goals and two assists while Autumn Meier had two goals, an assist, three draw controls, two caused turnovers and four groundballs for Hopkinton (14-1). Emma Pelletier also scored twice and had five draw controls and four groundballs.

Marcella Guadagano had a goal, an assist and five groundballs and Ava Burns had a goal, three draw controls, two caused turnovers and three groundballs. Lilly Chodosh and Molly Hodgdon also scored while Sadie Pelletier and Helen Yeaton played well and Molly Martin made two saves.

The Hawks will take on No. 3 St. Thomas at 4 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals at Bank of NH Stadium in Laconia.

No. 4 John Stark 19, No. 5 Derryfield 9

Claudia Dustin had seven goals and two assists to lead the Generals past the Cougars in a quarterfinal matchup.

Zoe Lawson added six goals and an assist for John Stark (14-3) while Addy Brunini had four goals and an assist. Aislyn Smith scored twice and Addie DeCew had two assists while Sammi Viarengo also had a helper and Rowin Ledy finished with 11 saves.

The Generals move on to the semifinals, where they will face top-seeded Bow at 6 p.m. Saturday at Bank of NH Stadium in Laconia.

Division I Playoffs

No. 3 Pinkerton 10, No. 6 Londonderry 6

Francesca Doyle scored four goals and had an assist as the Astros moved on to the semifinals with a win over the Lancers.

Ava Michelinie and Ashley Morrison added two goals apiece for Pinkerton (14-5) while Sookie Folsom had a goal and two assists. Grace Morrow had a goal and an assist and Paige Fenner made five saves.

The Astros will take on No. 2 Souhegan at 4 p.m. Saturday at Stellos Stadium in Nashua in the semifinals.

No. 2 Souhegan 11, No. 7 Bishop Guertin 2

Libby Kennedy had six goals to help the Sabers to a quarterfinal win over the Cardinals.

Izzy Stevenson dished out four assists for Souhegan (16-1) while Abbey Gray had two goals and an assist and Lanai Hickman also scored twice. Averie Curran also had an assist.

Bishop Guertin (9-8) got a goal apiece from Sam Butler and Sydney Brophy.

No. 1 Portsmouth 19, No. 8 Bedford 3

Raegan Lawton and Georgia Bouvier had five goals apiece as the Clippers rolled past the Bulldogs in the quarterfinals.

Ginger Vinciguerra and Lily Patterson each added two goals for Portsmouth (16-0) while Emery Lawton, Elliott Blenkinsop, Breleigh Vischer, Ellie Patrick and Molly Malinowski had a goal apiece.

Sage Bussiere had three saves for the Clippers, who will face No. 4 Exeter in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Saturday at Stellos Stadium in Nashua.

No. 4 Exeter 18, No. 5 Nashua South 6

Carly Benzekri had all six goals for the Panthers, as they saw their season come to an end in the quarterfinals against the Blue Hawks.

Emma Herlihy had seven saves for South (11-7) while Maddie Langer and Nitzann Alkalay played well.
