Girls Lacrosse Roundup: Bishop Guertin comeback comes up short against Westwood (video)
Here are results from Saturday’s high school girls lacrosse action.
NASHUA – The Bishop Guertin High School girls lacrosse team rallied twice Saturday against Westwood (Mass.), but the Cardinals comeback came up short in an 8-7 loss to the Wolverines.
Lola Dumont scored her third goal of the game with 1:47 remaining to get Bishop Guertin (6-3, No. 7 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) within a goal, but Westwood won the ensuind draw and ran out the clock.
Charlotte Accomando also had three goals for Bishop Guertin while Kaylee Cruikshank scored and Emma Smith finished with five saves.
Cassidy McMillin had three goals and an assist and Bridget Hughes added three goals for Westwood (7-4). Emma FitzPatrick and Mila Mandeville also had a goal apiece and Caitlyn Hickey made five saves.
Westwood led 4-0 early in the second quarter but a pair of goals by Dumont early in the second half made it a 6-5 game. Hughes answered with a goal late in the third to make it 7-5 and then scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with 6:53 remaining.
Accomando made it 8-6 on a goal with 5:01 to play, but the Wolverines won the draw and used up more time before Dumont’s goal made it a one-score game.

John Stark 16, Derryfield 12
Zoe Lawson scored 10 goals to lead the Generals to a road win over the Cougars.
Claudia Dustin added four goals and four assists for John Stark (4-1) while Addie DeCew had a goal and two assists.
Derryfield (4-2) got four goals and two assists from Maddy Paolino, including the 200th point of her high school career. Finley Llewellyn had six goals and two assists and Reagan Ayers also had two gaoals while Noelnni Hunter finished with 11 saves.
