Girls Lacrosse Roundup: Exeter slips past Londonderry again

The Exeter High School girls lacrosse team held off Londonderry for an 8-7 win on Monday.

Riley Benevides and Racquel Battle had two goals apiece to lead the Blue Hawks (8-4, No. 4 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll).

Addy Gwinn and Josie Drunsci each had a goal and an assist while Phoebe Christenson and Avery Carrigan added a goal apiece. Claire Wilhelm also recorded her 100th draw control in the win.

Summer Butler led Londonderry (5-5, No. 7) with six goals while Eres Delorey also scored.

The win was the 10th in a row for Exeter against Londonderry, with six of those wins by one goal, including the last four, and three of them in overtime. In the last 11 games between the two teams, nine have been decided by two goals or less.

No. 3 Pinkerton 9, No. 5 Bishop Guertin 4

The Astros got out to an early lead and held off the Cardinals in the second half.

Ashley Morrison finished with three goals and an assist for Pinkerton (8-4) while Rylee Robinson also scored three goals. Francesca Doyle added two goals and two assists and Sookie Folsom had a goal and an assist.

Paige Fenner recorded nine saves and Ada Judge made one stop.

Oyster River-Newmarket 15, Merrimack 6

Ashlyn Szelog scored seven goals and had an assist to help lead the Bobcats to a road win over the Tomahawks.

Grace Royal added six goals and an assist for ORN (4-4) while Ashling Ferris had a goal and three assists and Lucy Birkel also scored.

Goffstown 6, Concord 4

The Grizzlies held off the Crimson Tide late to pick up their sixth straight win.

Trinity Lunn had two goals and two assists to go with two draw controls and three groundballs and Mia Brisette added two goals, one assist and four draw controls for Goffstown (6-2).

Ella Coletti also had a goal and an assist with five draw controls and five groundballs and Maeve Hammon chipped in with a goal. Lilli Connor had an assist and five ground balls while Jenna Shannon had four caused turnovers and Emma Bird had three caused turnovers and four groundballs.

Yeimi Martinez made five saves, including two in the final minute to keep the Grizzlies in front.

No. 2 Souhegan 17, No. 10 Nashua South 4

Libby Kennedy had five goals and an assist to help the Sabers get past the Panthers.

Izzy Stevenson also had three goals and five assists and Merideth Heimark had three goals for Souhegan (8-1). Lanai Hickman added a goal and two assists while Abbey Grey (one assist) and Emmie Curran had two goals apiece.

Averie Curran chipped in with a goal and Haley Christiansen had an assist.

South (7-4) got two goals and an assist from Carly Benzekri while Briley Landsteiner also scored twice. Emma Herlihy finished with saves.

Kearsarge 9, Concord Christian 8

The Cougars picked up their second win of the season by holding off the Kingsmen.

Addyson Rossi had five goals and an assist to lead Kearsarge (2-5) while Katie Walkinshaw had five draw controls. Stella Syvertsen finished with nine saves in the win.

Lebanon 20, Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 4

A shorthanded Lakers team fell on the road to the Raiders.

Kate Taylor and Aubyre Breese each had two goals to lead ILMA (3-6) while Sydney Conkling and Reece Lavallee filled in at goalie and combined to make nine saves.

St. Thomas 22, John Stark 5

Talula Gregg scored 10 goals to help lead the Saints past the Generals.

Julia Bryan added four goals and Lizzy Holden scored three times for St. Thomas (8-2). Sophia Kelly also had two goals while Annita Parmelee, Addy Allen and Charlote De Tolla had a goal apiece.

Maia Scanlon and Izzy Taylor played well defensively while Reese Foss finished with 14 saves.

Coe-Brown 15, Gilford 11

The Bears got out to an early lead and held off the Golden Eagles to pick up the win.

Avery Keefe led the way with six goals and an assist to go with three caused turnovers for Coe-Brown (7-3). Natalie George had a goal and three assists while Ella Grant, Rose Bean, Molly Skahan, Maggie Cardillo and Addson Roy added a goal apiece.

Bre Peters helped lead the defense with three caused turnovers while Kenzie Silva, Ady Moynihan and Morgan Readel also played well defensively.

Gilford (6-2) got six goals from Abby Watson while Zevy Donovan scored twice. Rowan Worthen added a goal and McKenna Howard had an assist.

Derryfield 19, ConVal 2

Maddy Paolino had six goals and three assists to lead the Cougars to a road win over the Cougars.

Finley Llewellyn added five goals and three helpers for Derryfield (7-3) while Titi Latinwo had two goals, one assist, four groundballs and two draw controls.

Charlotte Belanger also scored twice and had an assist along with six draw controls and three groundballs while Chloe Larson had a goal, an assist, six draw controls and three groundballs and Reagan Ayers had a goal and three assists.

Caitlin Lande and Lila Hanning added a goal apiece while Noelanni Hunter made five saves and Grace Porter also had a stop. Taylor Bradley and Kaity Dell’Orfano played well defensively.

Salem 19, Manchester Central-West 3

Katie Wood had six goals to help the Blue Devils to the win over Central-West.

Althea Schaefer and Gabby Clarke added three goals apiece for Salem (2-9) while Brianna Messina, Nicole Ringdahl, Olivia Defrancesco, Morgann Raskow, Lily Beely, Leah Gonzalez and Kourtney Carroll had a goal apiece.

Olivia Schoenrock finished with six saves.
