Girls Lacrosse Roundup: Winnacunnet comes back to beat Londonderry (video)
Here are results from Thursday’s high school girls lacrosse action.
LONDONDERRY – Elle Emory scored what proved to be the game-winning goal early in the fourth quarter to help the Winnacunnet High School girls lacrosse team get an 8-6 win Thursday over Londonderry.
Emory added an insurance goal for the Warriors (14-3, No. 5 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll) in the final minute after the Lancers (9-7, No. 7) led for most of three quarters.
Ari Rizzo had three goals to lead Winnacunnet while Emory also had an assist and Emily Arlington had a goal and an assist. McKinley Fowler and Addy McEarlain also scored.
Londonderry got two goals from Lily Ciaramatero while Cora Rogers had a goal and two assists. Eres Delorey added a goal and an assist while Annabelle Melia and Addison Doyle also had a goal apiece and Abby Cook finished with five saves.
Merrimack 10, Hanover 5
The Tomahawks picked up their second win of the season over the Bears in their final regular season game at home.
Jackie Hayes (one assist, three draw controls) and Riley Taylor (eight draw controls) had four goals apiece to lead Merrimack (10-5). Lyla Carls added two goals and two assists and Liv Mitchell recorded five assists.
Sophia Richard finished with 12 saves.
No. 8 Timberlane 18, Hollis Brookline 7
Julia Johnson had five goals and two assists to help the Owls wrap up their regular season with a win over the Cavaliers.
Lila Fitzgerald scored four goals, had three assists and two groundballs while Rylee Donahue added four goals and two assists to go with nine draw controls and two caused turnovers for Timberlane (15-1).
Johnson also had three draw controls and three caused turnovers and Aubrey Fitzgerald added three goals and three assists. Ava Paul also scored twice and Alexa Ring had an assist.
Mia Morrier and Grace Gerhard played well in the win and Kayla Apitz finished with four saves.
No. 2 Souhegan 19, Salem 0
Libby Kennedy had six goals and three assists to help the Sabers get a win in their regular-season finale.
Izzy Stevenson added three goals and four assists and Lanai Hickman had two goals and an assist while Abbey Gray had a goal and an assist as Souhegan (15-1) won it’s 13th game in a row.
Emmie Curran, Meredith Heimarck, Emilia Koch, Gwen Allen, Haley Christensen and Madeline Houle had a goal apiece and Averie Curran added an assist. Molly Benson finished with three saves.
John Stark 17, Belmont 2
The Red Raiders wrapped up their season against the Generals.
Daylan Henry and Brooke Varnum each had a goal while Augusta Provencal recorded an assist for Belmont (2-12). Shelby Mason played the first half and made 10 saves while Brooke Muprhy had nine saves in the second half.
