Girls Lacrosse Roundup: Winnacunnet rolls to opening win over Goffstown

HAMPTON – The Winnacunnet High School girls lacrosse team jumped out to an early lead and didn’t look back in a 20-7 win over Goffstown in the teams’ season opener on Monday.

Elle Emery had four goals and three assists and McKinley Fowler added five goals for the Warriors (1-0, No. 9 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll).

Reese Gandt and Emily Arlington had three goals and an assist apiece while Arianna Rizzo had a goal and three assists. Annika Jacques also had three goals and Leah Costa also had a goal.

Goffstown (0-1) got three goals from Mia Brissette while Trinity Lunn had two goals and an assist. Sydney Lavoie and Ella Coletti added a goal and an assist apiece.

Laconia 7, John Stark 6

The Sachems picked up a win over the Generals in a back-and-forth game that neither team led by more than a goal.

Ava Currier, Sam Wylie and Ellen Valovanie each had two goals for Laconia and Natalie Allen also scored. Haley McCrthy and BrookLynne Ring combined for 10 saves in goal.

Zoe Lawson led John Stark with four goals.

Kearsarge 10, ConVal 2

Addyson Rossi scored four goals to lead the Cougars to a win over the Cougars.

Meadow Chase and Kaelan Finnegan also had two goals apiece for Kearsarge while Stella Syvertsen finished with seven saves.

Zadie Marshall and Emma O’Brien each had a goal for ConVal.

No. 3 Pinkerton 20, Salem 5

The Astros had 10 goal scorers in a season-opening win over the Blue Devils.

Delaney Summer had three goals and four assists and Rylee Robinson had four goals and two assists to lead Pinkerton. Francesca Doyle also had four goals while Ashley Morison scored twice and had an assist.

Ava Michelinie had a goal and two assists and Grace Morrow had two goals while Melyana Mara, Cali Lockwood and Cora Udina scored a goal apiece. Paige Fenner and Adda Judge each made a save.

Salem got three goals from Katie Wood while Morgan Raskow and Gabby Clarke scored a goal apiece. Olivia Schoenrock finished with eight saves.

No. 5 Exeter 17, Windham 3

Riley Benevides scored five goals to lead the Blue Hawks to road win over the Jaguars.

Claire Wilhelm and Avery Carrigan each added four goals for Exeter while Grace McIlroy and Racquel Battle finished a goal and an assist apiece. Evie Lafreniere and Addy Gwinn both scored a goal.

Brooke Battle recorded two assists and Josie Drunsic and Lizzie DeLello each had an assist. Molly Byrne made four saves and Maggie Lilly finished with one.

No. 7 Nashua South 16, Manchester Central-West 3

Carly Benzekri and Lexi McGuire each had three goals for the Panthers in a win over Central-West.

Briley Landsteiner and Gemma Williams added two goals and an assist each while Wylie Hart also had a goal and an assist. Olivia St. Hilaire, Nicole De Jesus Roman, Nitzann Alkalay, Isabel Picanco and Maddie Langer chipped in a goal apiece.

Karina Santana, Hailey Cote and Bella Hwalek played well defensively while Emma Herlihy and CJ Oro played well in goal.

Campbell 16, Pembroke 12

Zoe Bourque scored nine goals and had four assists to lead the Cougars to a win over the Spartans.

Lilli Wilson added six goals and an assist for Campbell, which pulled away in the fourth quarter for the win.

Pembroke got five goals from Laila Al-Shawafi and Paige Bemis had four goals and an assist. Faith Young added a goal and four assists.

Gilford 20, Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 8

Kate Taylor had three goals for the Lakers in a season-opening loss to the Golden Eagles.

Taylor added two assists and also had eigth draw controls while Aubrey Bresse had two goals, two groundballs and two draw controls. Brooke Taylor, Bella Kimball and Makayla Peterson also scored for ILMA.

Lebanon 6, Milford 4

The Spartans got 11 saves from goalie Violet Renda but came up short against the Raiders.

Olivia Lochhead scored twice for Milford while Maya Remella and Maggie Pelletier had a goal apiece.

Lebanon got three goals from Abby Auch while Sara Forman, Addie Durell and Audrey Newton each scored a goal. Kaylee Cross finished with seven saves.

Derryfield 18, Belmont 1

Maddy Paolino had eight goals and three assists to lead the Cougars past the Red Raiders.

Finley Llewellyn added two scores and had five assists and Chloe Larson had four goals and a helper. Charlotte Belanger chipped in with two goals while Regan Ayers had a goal and two assists, Tito Latinwo had a goal and and an assist and Jules Cataldo had an assist.

Taylor Bradley, Katie Stonaker, Kelsi Bremberg and Lila Hanning also played well for Derryfield while Noelanni Hunter made four saves.

No. 4 Bishop Guertin 13, No. 8 Londonderry 9

Lola Dumont turned in a strong performance to lead the Cardinals past the Lancers.

Dumont finished with eight goals and an assist along with nine draw controls, three groundballs and a caused turnover. Kaylee Cruikshank added a goal and four assists while Charlotte Accomando had a goal, an assist and two draw controls.

Sam Butler and Cam Leighton also had a goal apiece while Emma Smith made seven saves and Ava Brennan had three caused turnovers and a groundball.
