GOFFSTOWN – The Goffstown High School field hockey team had a handful of quality scoring chances in the second half Friday against Bow, but an unlucky bounce or a nice save by Falcons goalie Madeline Soucy stymied the Grizzlies for more than 29 minutes.
With under a minute to play, Goffstown finally got the break it needed.
Alyssa Gabbidon sent the ball into the circle, trying to get it across to Bethany Dubreuil on the far side of the goal, but Soucy got a piece of it. The rebound came right out in front, where Grace Taylor was waiting to knock the ball in with 41.2 seconds left, and the Grizzlies were able to hold off the Falcons’ final charge for a 2-1 win in the Division II regular-season finale for both teams.
