AMHERST – Ryan Kelley wanted to see the Hollis Brookline High School boys basketball team get off to a good start Tuesday night against Souhegan.
The Cavaliers couldn’t have done much better, holding the Sabers scoreless through the first eight minutes, but the finish might have been more important long term.
Up 14-0 after one quarter, and still up double digits early in the fourth, HB needed to come up with a couple of defensive stops late to hang on for a 59-54 win over Souhegan in a Division II contest.
