HOLLIS – The Hollis Brookline High School boys lacrosse team found itself Thursday evening in the spot it had been in a month prior.
Midway through the first quarter, the Cavaliers were trailing Souhegan, although this time, their season was on the line.
No. 8 HB responded with a 3-0 run to end the quarter and outscored No. 9 Souhegan 9-2 over the next two-plus quarters on the way to a 13-9 win in the Division II preliminary round. The win sends the Cavs to Saturday’s quarterfinals, where they will face No. 1 Portsmouth the road at 5 p.m.
