The Hollis Brookline High School girls lacrosse team was focused on completing one objective heading into the 2022 season, getting back to the Division II title game. Saturday evening at Stellos Stadium in Nashua, the third-seeded Cavaliers realized this goal with an 11-9 win over second-seeded Hanover.
HB will square off in a final rematch with top-seeded Portsmouth in a 7 p.m. clash on June 8 at Stellos Stadium.
The Clippers, who beat fourth-seeded Windham 20-10 in Saturday’s semifinal at Stellos Stadium, return to the final for the sixth straight season (no tournament in 2020). Portsmouth’s recent run kicked off with a loss to Hanover in 2015 then beating Winnacunet (2016, 2018) and HB (2019, 2021) every other year over the last four completed seasons, including an 8-7 win over the Cavaliers last spring.
