Maddie Norris, of Hollis Brookline High School, has been named Gatorade’s New Hampshire Volleyball Player of the Year for the 2017 season.

Norris, a junior, helped lead the Cavaliers to a 21-0 record and a third-straight Division I championship in the fall, and was also named the Division I Player of the Year. On the season, she recorded 212 kills, 119 digs and 59 aces with a kill percentage of .433, and has a three-year total of 512 kills.

“Maddie is a smart player who utilizes power and shot selection to be effective and consistent,” Bishop Guertin coach Abby Savard said of Norris in a press release. “She has an uncanny ability to read and execute defensively and has a powerful and manipulative serve.”

On the varsity since the start of her freshman year, Norris has played a role in HB’s last three championships. She also becomes the fourth winner of the award from HB, joining Kelsey Berry (2011), Erin Flaherty (2005) and Suzy Flaherty (2004).
