Keene football knocks off Nashua South to win D1 West Conference Championship

NASHUA – Alex Parenteau used his arm and his legs to help lead the Keene High School football team to a 38-21 win over Nashua South in the Division I West Conference championship game on Saturday.

Parenteau rushed 27 times for 153 yards and two touchdowns and he completed 8 of 13 passes for 91 yards and two more touchdowns as the Blackbirds (8-2) kept the ball out of the hands of South’s Trevor Knight. When the Panthers (8-2) did have the ball, they struggled to move up and down the field.

Keene ran 20 more plays and outgained the Panthers 344-260, while South was penalized eight times for 82 yards, four of which game Keene a first down.

Knight finished with 76 yards rushing and a touchdown and also was 9 of 20 passing for 129 yards and two scores, one each to Robbie Smyth and Jesse Clausse.

Tim Lane also had 99 yards rushing and a touchdown for Keene, which moves on to the semifinals, where it will host Pinkerton on Saturday.
