Laconia boys lacrosse starts fast, beats Monadnock to reach D3 title game

LACONIA – Andy Paronto thought his Laconia High School boys lacrosse team played great Wednesday for the first quarter and a half.
With Stephen Towers in goal, the Sachems were able to survive playing less than that for stretches of the rest of the game.
No. 2 Laconia got out to a 6-0 lead through the first 18 minutes, and Towers and the Sachems defense were able to hold off No. 6 Monadnock enough the rest of the way for an 11-5 win in the Division III semifinals. The win sends Laconia to the title game for the second time in three years, where the Sachems will take on No. 1 Hopkinton, which beat No. 4 Plymouth in the other semifinal.
