DERRY – Sophomore Gemma Murray was given the task to guard recent Pinkerton Academy’s 1,000-point scorer Sydney Gerossie entering Londonderry High School’s girls basketball rivalry matchup against the Astros on Friday.

Murray did her job on her defensive assignment and complemented Londonderry’s leading scorer Sammie Sullivan for a rivalry victory that kept the Lancers undefeated.

Gerossie was averaging 17.9 points a game, but Murray limited her to 11 points on Friday while scoring 18 points of her own during Londonderry’s 56-45 victory inside Hackler Gymnasium.
