Londonderry makes a move in this week’s NHHSSports Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll
For the first time in over a month, the Londonderry High School boys lacrosse team has made a move up in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll.
The Lancers traded spots with Timberlane in the top 10 this week, giving them sole possession of the No. 7 spot for the first time since the second poll of the year. That was just one of a handful of changes as the schedule moves into the final week of the regular season.
Bishop Guertin, as it has been all season, was again the unanimous choice for the No. 1 spot. The Cardinals will finish out their schedule this week by hosting Nashua North on Wednesday night before going to Acton-Boxborough on Thursday.
Pinkerton climbed one spot to No. 2 in this week’s poll, the first time this year the Astros have been that high. They’ll end the year with home games against Nashua North on Monday and Bedford on Friday. Exeter also moved up a spot to come in at No. 3, as the Blue Hawks will travel to Nashua South on Monday and host Merrimack on Wednesday.
Derryfield also moved up one place to No. 4 and the Cougars finish out the regular season by hosting ConVal on Tuesday and then going to Hollis Brookline on Friday. Portsmouth dropped three spots to round out the top five this week, and will go on the road to take on Merrimack Valley on Tuesday and Spaulding on Thursday.
For the seventh straight poll, Bedford is the team at No. 6, and the Bulldogs have a busy week, as they’ll go to Merrimack on Monday, host Londonderry on Wednesday and then head to Pinkerton on Friday. The Lancers will put their No. 7 spot on the line at home against Salem on Monday before the game against Bedford.
Timberlane moved down a spot to No. 8, and the Owls have a pair of road games, going to Winnacunnet on Tuesday and then to Merrimack Valley on Friday. Merrimack stayed at No. 9 this week, and along with hosting Bedford on Monday, the Tomahawks go to Exeter on Wednesday and Nashua South on Friday.
And for the first time since the preseason poll, Winnacunnet is in the top 10, moving past St. Thomas into the final spot. The Warriors finish with a busy week, as they host Timberlane on Tuesday and then go on the road to Souhegan on Thursday and Alvirne on Friday.
