Londonderry, Nashua South move up in this week’s New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Girls Lacrosse Coaches Poll

The playoffs are right around the corner and two girls lacrosse teams will be going in with a higher ranking in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll.

Londonderry and Nashua South both moved up in the final poll before the playoffs begin. There are no polls during the postseason and the final poll will be released on June 11.

Portsmouth was again the top choice, getting all eight first-place votes to finish at No. 1, while Souhegan was a unaimous choice for No. 2 and Pinkerton received every third-place vote to remain at No. 3.

Exeter held on at No. 4 and Winnacunnet remained at No. 5 for the second straight week, while Londonderry moved up come in at No. 6. Bishop Guertin dropped a spot to No. 7.

Nashua South climbed two spots to come in at No. 8 in the poll while Timberlane dropped a spot to No. 9 and Bedford fell to No. 10.

Here is this week’s New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSS Girls Lacrosse Coaches Poll. These are the top 10 lacrosse teams in the state, with records, first-place votes/points, and last week’s ranking (T=tie).

1. Portsmouth (15-0), 8/80, 1st
2. Souhegan (15-1), 72, 2nd
3. Pinkerton (13-5), 64, 3rd
4. Exeter (12-6), 55, 4th
5. Winnacunnet (15-3), 41, 5th
6. Londonderry (9-7), 36, 7th
7. Bishop Guertin (9-7), 34, 6th
8. Nashua South (11-6), 16, 10th
9. Timberlane (15-1), 15, 8th
10. Bedford (8-8), 14, 9th

Also receiving votes: St. Thomas (14-2), 4; Dover (6-9), 3; Goffstown (9-5), 1; Oyster River-Newmarket (9-5), 1; Windham (6-10), 1.

The coaches poll is voted on by girls lacrosse coaches from around the state and members of the media. There will be no polls during the playoffs and a final poll on June 11.
