DERRY – The first quarter couldn’t have gone much better Thursday night for the Manchester Central High School girls basketball team.
But despite leading Pinkerton by 11 points after one frame, the Little Green were in for a roller-coaster finish.
The Astros came back in the second half, going up by six points with just under six minutes to play, but Central responded with a 12-0 run and held on for a 52-47 win over Pinkerton in the Division I season opener for both teams.
