MANCHESTER – The Manchester Memorial High School football team got touchdowns from five players Thursday on the way to a 46-8 win over Manchester West in the 43rd Turkey Bowl at Gill Stadium.

MANCHESTER – The Manchester Memorial High School football team got touchdowns from five players Thursday on the way to a 46-8 win over Manchester West in the 43rd Turkey Bowl at Gill Stadium.

Ledum Adumene scored on both of his carries in the second half and helped the Crusaders (9-2) rushed for 228 yards in their second-straight win over West on Thanksgiving Day. It’s also the third win in a row in the city championship for Memorial, the first time the Crusaders have accomplished that.

Jacob Schuff, Gabe Felch and Jathyen Torres also had rushing touchdowns for Memorial while Jordan Gallego returned an interception 25 yards for a score in the fourth quarter. Schuff also had an interception on defense and Moses White kicked a 28-yard field goal.

West (7-4) struggled to move the ball against Memorial’s defensive front and didn’t cross midfield on offense until the second half. Manny Mendoza was 13 of 26 passing for 67 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

Liam King had six reception for 48 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. The two-point conversion run by Kingston Green made it 24-8 with over five minutes left in the third, but the Crusaders were able to pull away.

Rayvon Nelson and King each had an interception on defense for West while Jarome Henery caught four passes for 30 yards and recovered a fumble.
