Merrimack football runs its way to a win over Bedford in season finale (video)

BEDFORD – Reimello Hyde scored three touchdowns and the Merrimack High School football team finished the regular season with a 24-21 win over Bedford on Friday night.

Hyde carried the ball 47 times for 268 yards and a trio of rushing scores, while also catching three passes for another 13 yards; the senior had the ball on 50 of the Tomahawks’ 71 plays, as Merrimack (6-2) gained 359 yards, 295 of it on the round.

Trent Jackson was 10 of 18 passing for 64 yards and an interception and Owen Sadowski had five catches for 28 yards while Garron Brown ran for 30 yards and had 23 yards receiving. Each had an interception on defense, with Sadowski’s coming on Bedford’s final drive to clinch the win for Merrimack

Danny Black led Bedford (5-3), going to 17 of 26 for 257 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. Dom Tagliaferro caught five of those passes for 136 yards and a touchdown, including a 75-yard score that cut Merrimack’s lead to 17-14 in the fourth quarter. He also blocked a field goal in the first half.

Ledger Russell added two catches for 46 yards and a score and Joel Poltronieri caught a 6-yard touchdown pass and had an interception on defense.
