Milford, Alvirne girls to face off in Nashua Holiday Tournament finale
Spartans, Broncos will play for a title on Saturday.
NASHUA – The Milford High School girls basketball team jumped out to a 17-point lead after one quarter and cruised to a 49-35 win Friday over Nashua South in the Nashua Holiday Tournament.
The Spartans build the lead up to 23 going into halftime to advance to the championship game, which will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at South. Milford will look to win the title for the second time in three years against Alvirne.
Avery Fuller had 17 points to lead the Spartans while Shea Hansen and Ellianna Nassy each had nine points as Milford led 11-0 in the first quarter.
Karina O’Donnell hit four 3-pointers to lead the Panthers with 12 points while Nicole De Jesus had nine points and Addie Borden and Joelle Primo each had five.
South will face Nashua North in the consolation game at 12 p.m. Saturday, also at South.
Alvirne 41, Nashua North 29
Courtney Anderson had 11 points and Julia Adams had 10 points to lead the Broncos past the Titans.
Alexis Floyd chipped in with eight points and Ella Hartson had seven for Alvirne, which led 22-6 at the end of the first quarter, but scored just 19 points the rest of the way.
The Broncos led 29-10 early in the third quarter, but North was able to get the lead down to 10 points in the fourth.
Aidan Walker had nine points to lead the Titans while Madelyn Tino added eight points and Lillian Small had six.
