MILFORD – Dan Murray knew his Milford High School boys basketball team had a lot of growing up to do.

The Spartans coach was a little surprised to see it happen in the first half of the team’s first varsity game Friday night against Souhegan.

After falling behind early, Milford was able to stay in the game thanks to senior Jamie Pare, and in the second half, the Spartans started to put everything together in a 64-52 win over the Sabers in Division II action.
