DURHAM – Chandler Matson knows that Isaac Jasinski is more than just the kicker for the Monadnock Regional High School football team.
But on Saturday, that’s all the Huskies needed him to be.
Jasinski kicked a 27-yard field goal with one second left on the clock to give No. 1 Monadnock a 15-12 win over No. 3 Campbell in the Division III championship game at the University of New Hampshire.
The kick capped a comeback for the Huskies, who trailed 12-0 in the first half, and struggled at times to move the ball against the Cougars’ defense. But when it came to crunch time, Monadnock (12-0) put itself in position to win and found a way to capture the elusive championship.
