Moore Catholic’s big second half leads to win over Campbell
NASHUA – The Moore Catholic High School boys basketball team blew open a close game in the second half and knocked off Campbell 61-42 in the first round of the Chick-fil-A Holiday Tournament Tuesday at Nashua North.

NASHUA – The Moore Catholic High School boys basketball team blew open a close game in the second half and knocked off Campbell 61-42 in the first round of the Chick-fil-A Holiday Tournament Tuesday at Nashua North.
The Mavericks outscored the Cougars 28-12 in the second half to advance in the winner’s bracket in a game that was originally scheduled to be the first game of the day, but was pushed back because Moore Catholic, from Staten Island, N.Y., was unable to leave for Nashua until Tuesday morning.
Scott Schaefer led Moore Catholic with 13 points and Kenben Kpofolo added 12 markers for the winners. Mark Fiorello made three 3-pointers and added 11 points.
Campbell got 12 points from Tyler Syphers and 11 points from Josh Morgan, but the duo combined for just four points in the second half. Jacob Morgan also had six for the Cougars, who will face Alvirne in the first game at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Moore Catholic will play Nashua South at 6 p.m.
