Every week during the football season, on the Ninth State Sports Show podcast, Joe Marchilena and Mike Lochman will each select a Player and a Team of the Week from the previous weekend’s performances.

Here are the selections for Week 4:

Player of the Week

  • Mike’s Pick: Sahil Mujawar, Merrimack. The senior helped lead the Tomahawks to a 20-13 win over Keene, as he ran for two touchdowns and was also 18 of 25 passing for 266 yards and another touchdown.
  • Joe’s Pick: Daniel Batstone, Exeter. The senior led the Blue Hawks’ rushing attack in a 38-12 win against Winnacunnet. Batstone ran for 172 yards on just 15 carries and found the end zone four times in Exeter’s win.

Team of the Week

  • Mike’s Pick: Nashua South. The Panthers rallied from an early deficit, scoring 35 unanswered points to get a 41-10 win over Nashua North. Cody Jackson led the way for South, as the quarterback threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more.
  • Joe’s Pick: Pinkerton. The Astros got a 38-15 win over Londonderry, just its second win in the last 10 meetings against the Lancers. Pinkerton did so with a balanced offensive attack that included three touchdown passes from quarterback Aiden McDonald, two to Jamie Isaac and another to Cam Dillon.

  • Players: Matt Morrison, Pinkerton; Mike Landmesser, Alvirne.
  • Teams: Winnacunnet; Manchester West.

Week 2

  • Players: Joey Dykstra, John Stark; Nate Bowen, Bishop Guertin.
  • Teams: Exeter; Manchester Memorial

Week 3

  • Players: Ben Valenti, Plymouth; Kevin Todisco, Salem.
  • Teams: Farmington-Nute; Alvirne.
