Here are the selections for Week 6:
Player of the Week
- Mike’s Pick: Ollie Service, Trinity. The first-year starting quarterback of the Pioneers had a big day in his team’s 49-21 win over St. Thomas. Service threw for almost three hundred yards and five touchdowns to help Trinity improve to 5-1 in Division II.
- Joe’s Pick: Scott Hershberger, Campbell. The Cougars senior ran for 182 yards and three touchdowns in his team’s 34-14 win over Epping-Newmarket. That total puts Hershberger at the top of the all-time rushing list at Campbell, as he now has 5,254 rushing yards in his high school career, passing the mark of 5,148 set by Keegan Mills.
Team of the Week
- Mike’s Pick: Kingswood. The Knights likely needed a win over Merrimack Valley to keep their playoff hopes in Division II alive. They got it, rallying from a halftime deficit with two touchdowns in the second half and then holding on defensively to get a 20-17 victory over the Pride.
- Joe’s Pick: Bedford. The Bulldogs were down 13-0 to Pinkerton last Friday while people were still trying to find a place to park. But Bedford chipped away at the Astros lead, eventually going ahead in the third quarter. After Pinkerton went back up early in the fourth, quarterback Jack Maye led the offense on a game-winning drive, as Bedford won 28-25.
