NHHSSports Football Performances of the Week (Oct. 21)

Every week during the football season, on the Ninth State Sports Show podcast, Joe Marchilena and Mike Lochman will each select a Player and a Team of the Week from the previous weekend’s performances.

Here are the selections for Week 7:

Player of the Week

• Mike’s Pick: Bennett Matthews, Bedford. In a close battle with Bishop Guertin in the first half, Matthews helped the Bulldogs pull out the 35-28 win with 135 yards rushing and three touchdowns to go with 6 of 6 passing for 73 yards and a score.
• Joe’s Pick: Mike Landmesser, Alvirne. The senior helped the Broncos pick up a 25-22 win over Timberlane by rushing for 178 yards and two touchdowns, keeping Alvirne’s hopes of a third-straight playoff appearance alive.

Team of the Week

• Mike’s Pick: Manchester Memorial. The Crusaders bounced back from their first loss with a big win over Nashua South, 46-28. Jacob Schuff led the way, rushing for 253 yards and four touchdowns, three of them in the fourth quarter.
• Joe’s Pick: Souhegan. The Sabers remained the only unbeaten team in Division II by handing Plymouth its first loss, 19-9. Souhegan’s defense kept the Bobcats off the board in the second half, while Michael Fiengo, Ryland Raudelunas and Kobe Morin led the offense to two second-half touchdowns.

• Players: Ryland Raudelunas/Brody Smith, Souhegan; Rob Durkin, Windham.
• Teams: Hollis Brookline; Londonderry.

Week 4

• Players: Cesar Flahn, Manchester Central; Cody Jackson/Josh Tripp, Nashua South.
• Teams: Winnacunnet; Bishop Guertin.

Week 3

• Players: Luke Draper, Pelham; Brody Helton, Bedford.
• Teams: Manchester Central; Plymouth.

Week 2

• Players: Jacob Schuff, Manchester Memorial; Jordan Zannini, Salem.
• Teams: Concord; Pelham.

Week 1

• Players: Ollie Service, Trinity; Serafin Agramonte, Kingswood.
• Teams: Nashua South; Manchester West.
