NHHSSports Football Performances of the Week (Oct. 22)

Every week during the football season, on the Ninth State Sports Show podcast, Joe Marchilena and Mike Lochman will each select a Player and a Team of the Week from the previous weekend’s performances.

Here are the selections for Week 7:

Player of the Week

• Mike’s Pick: Robert King, Hillsboro-Deering. The Hillcats junior carried just eight times but picked up 125 yards and scored four touchdowns in his team’s 58-8 win over Farmington-Nute. King also had a 25-yard touchdown reception in the win.
• Joe’s Pick: Gio Doria, Manchester West. The Blue Knights quarterback helped lead a second-half come back, as West rallied from a 13-6 deficit to beat Kingswood 21-13. Doira was 13 of 19 passing for 219 yards with two touchdowns and an interception as West moved to 5-2 on the year, the first time the program has reached five wins since 2007.

Team of the Week

• Mike’s Pick: Trinity. The Pioneers not only picked up a big win last week with their 41-28 victory over Pelham, they also snapped the Pythons’ 47-game win streak that dated back to the 2020 season.
• Joe’s Pick: Bishop Guertin. The Cardinals were a wrecking machine on offense, piling up over 500 yards of offense in a 62-21 win against Dover. That including 300 yards on the ground from Bishop Guertin’s rushing attack, as it gets set for a key game against Salem this week that will have a big impact on seeding in the Division I playoffs.

• Players: Ben Valenti, Plymouth; Kevin Todisco, Salem.
• Teams: Farmington-Nute; Alvirne.

Week 4

• Players: Sahil Mujawar, Merrimack; Daniel Batstone, Exeter.
• Teams: Nashua South, Pinkerton.

Week 5

• Players: Michael Fiengo, Souhegan; Luke Peters, Nashua North.
• Teams: Concord, Bishop Brady.

Week 6

• Players: Ollie Service, Trinity; Scott Hershberger, Campbell.
• Teams: Kingswood; Bedford.
