NHHSSports Football Performances of the Week (Oct. 29)

Every week during the football season, on the Ninth State Sports Show podcast, Joe Marchilena and Mike Lochman will each select a Player and a Team of the Week from the previous weekend’s performances.

Here are the selections for Week 8:

Player of the Week

• Mike’s Pick: Nathan Migliore, Pelham. The Pythons bounced back from their first loss in over four years thanks in part to the senior’s big night in a 40-26 win over Souhegan. Migliore had two rushing touchdowns and also returned an interception 94 yards for a score to help Pelham take control of the Division II West Conference.
• Joe’s Pick: Brody Helton, Bedford. The Bulldogs junior has had more eye-popping numbers this season, but played a key role in Bedford’s 38-14 win over previously-unbeaten Nashua South. Helton carried 32 times for 171 yards and three touchdowns to help the Bulldogs wrap up the Division I West Conference.

Team of the Week

• Mike’s Pick: Spaulding. The Red Raiders grabbed their first Division I win of the regular season with a 41-33 win against Dover. Senior Seth Cortina had four touchdowns and ran in two two-point conversions for Spaulding. The win also likely knocked the Green Wave out of playoff contention.
• Joe’s Pick: Nashua North. The Titans wrapped up their Division I schedule with a comeback win against Merrimack, 31-21. Senior Luke Peters had a rushing touchdown, a kickoff return for a touchdown and brought back a punt for a score. The win also likely knocked the Tomahawks out of playoff contention.

• Players: Ben Valenti, Plymouth; Kevin Todisco, Salem.
• Teams: Farmington-Nute; Alvirne.

Week 4

• Players: Sahil Mujawar, Merrimack; Daniel Batstone, Exeter.
• Teams: Nashua South, Pinkerton.

Week 5

• Players: Michael Fiengo, Souhegan; Luke Peters, Nashua North.
• Teams: Concord, Bishop Brady.

Week 6

• Players: Ollie Service, Trinity; Scott Hershberger, Campbell.
• Teams: Kingswood; Bedford.

Week 7

• Players: Robert King, Hillsboro-Deering; Gio Doria, Manchester West.
