NHHSSports Football Performances of the Week (Oct. 8)

Every week during the football season, on the Ninth State Sports Show podcast, Joe Marchilena and Mike Lochman will each select a Player and a Team of the Week from the previous weekend’s performances.

Here are the selections for Week 5:

Player of the Week

• Mike’s Pick: Michael Fiengo, Souhegan. The junior quarterback did a little bit of everything in the Sabers 37-0 win over Hanover. Fiengo completed 11 of 15 passes for 177 yards and a touchdown and ran for two more scores while also grabbing an interception on defense.
• Joe’s Pick: Luke Peters, Nashua North. The senior led the Titans’ offense in a 43-42 loss to Bishop Guertin, rushing for 149 yards and two touchdowns to go with three catches for 58 yards and two more scores. Peters also recovered a fumble on defense.

Team of the Week

• Mike’s Pick: Concord. After falling behind by a touchdown early against Windham, the Crimson Tide scored 20 unanswered points to take a 20-7 win. Quarterback Colby Nyhan led the way for Concord, throwing a touchdown pass while also kicking two extra points and two field goals.
• Joe’s Pick: Bishop Brady. A week after allowing over 60 points in a loss to Raymond, the Giants kept their playoff hopes alive with a 56-46 win over Hillsboro-Deering. Quarterback Joey Richardson led the way, rushing for three touchdowns and throwing for three more.

• Players: Ben Valenti, Plymouth; Kevin Todisco, Salem.
• Teams: Farmington-Nute; Alvirne.

Week 4

• Players: Sahil Mujawar, Merrimack; Daniel Batstone, Exeter.
• Teams: Nashua South, Pinkerton.
