Here are the selections for Week 2:
Player of the Week
- Mike’s Pick: Jacob Schuff, Manchester Memorial. The Crusaders were in a battle with Dover until Schuff put his mark on the game in the final 13 minutes. It started with a receiving touchdown in the final minute of the third quarter, and Schuff added a rushing score and a pick-6 to lead Memorial to the 30-6 win.
- Joe’s Pick: Jordan Zannini, Salem. He may have only touch the ball five times, but Zannini made the most of every one in the Blue Devils’ 48-0 win over Alvirne. The senior had 156 yards and two touchdowns on just three carries and then returned a punt 98 yards for a score and a kickoff 98 yards for a score.
Team of the Week
- Mike’s Pick: Concord. The Crimson Tide scored all their points after halftime, coming back for a 27-14 win over Londonderry. That included 13 unanswered points after the game was tied at 14 in the second half, with Concord taking advantage of a pair of short-field opportunities in the win.
- Joe’s Pick: Pelham. The Pythons overcame a slow start to scored three touchdowns in the second quarter and two more in the first 3:11 of the third on the way to a 47-0 win over John Stark. Pelham had 463 yards of offense, including 410 rushing, while averaging 10 yards per carry.
