At the time, it just seemed like a hustle play by Arie Breakfield, but it started the Spaulding High School boys basketball team on a run that set up the Red Raiders first win of the regular season, a 77-75 overtime victory against Salem last Friday.

With Breakfield on the bench for a long stretch in the third quarter, after the junior was hit in the face and appeared to have a bloody nose, Salem was able to turn a close game into a nine-point lead after going on a 13-2 run.

The Blue Devils took advantage in the paint, scoring 10 points during that run from in close, including two layups by Kyle Poulin and a putback by Nicholas Hayes.
