Pair of D2 teams climb in this week’s New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Girls Lacrosse Coaches Poll

With the final week of the regular season here, both the Winnacunnet and Timberlane high school girls lacrosse teams each moved up a spot in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll.

Portsmouth was again the pick at No. 1 in the poll, receiving all seven first-place votes, while Souhegan remained at No. 2. The two teams have been in those spots for every poll this season.

Pinkerton and Exeter were once again Nos. 3 and 4, respectively, for the third week in a row, while Winnacunnet moved up one spot to round out the top five.

Bishop Guertin traded spots with the Warriors, falling one place to sixth, with Londonderry again coming in at No. 7. Timberlane also moved up a spot to take No. 8, the highest position the Owls have had in the poll.

Bedford moved down to No. 9 while Nashua South continued to round out the top 10.

Here is this week’s New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSS Girls Lacrosse Coaches Poll. These are the top 10 lacrosse teams in the state, with records, first-place votes/points, and last week’s ranking (T=tie).

4. Exeter (11-6), 46, 4th
5. Winnacunnet (12-3), 35, 6th
6. Bishop Guertin (9-5), 32, 5th
7. Londonderry (8-6), 30, 7th
8. Timberlane (13-1), 15, 9th
9. Bedford (7-7), 14, 8th
10. Nashua South (9-6), 13, 10th

Also receiving votes: Goffstown (8-3), 5; Hanover (8-4), 4; Dover (5-9), 2; Windham (6-9), 1.

The coaches poll is voted on by girls lacrosse coaches from around the state and members of the media. Next week’s poll will be released on Monday and will be the final poll until after the end of the playoffs.
