DERRY – The Pinkerton Academy girls lacrosse team piled up goals in the first half of Wednesday’s Division I quarterfinal against Londonderry.
So when the Lancers made their run in the second half, the Astros still led by a comfortable margin.
Pinkerton took an eight-goal lead into halftime, and when Londonderry cut it in half after the break, the Astros had enough to hold the Lancers off, taking a 15-11 win to advance to the semifinals.
