Pinkerton holds off Bishop Guertin, Bedford for top spot in New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll

The race for the top of the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll now has three teams.

While Pinkerton Academy was able to retain the No. 1 position for the second week in a row, getting six first-place votes, the Astros were one of three teams to be voted in the top spot.

Bishop Guertin remained at No. 2 this week, receiving five first-place votes to come in one point beind Pinkerton. Bedford stayed at No. 3, but picked up four first-place votes and trailed Pinkerton by five points for the top spot in the poll.

Exeter remained at No. 4 while Winnacunnet was at No. 5 and Portsmouth was at No. 6 for the second week in a row. Derryfield held on to the seventh spot.

Dover traded places with Londonderry, as the Green Wave moved up to No. 8 and the Lancers dropped to No. 9. Coe-Brown round out the top 10 for the third week in a row.

Here is this week’s New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSS Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll. These are the top 10 lacrosse teams in the state, with records, first-place votes/points, and last week’s ranking (T=tie).

4. Exeter (11-4), 105, 4th
5. Winnacunnet (13-1), 85, 5th

8. Dover (11-5), 37, 9th
9. Londonderry (9-7), 30, 8th
10. Coe-Brown (13-0), 17, 10th

Also receiving votes: Oyster River-Newmarket (10-3), 5; St. Thomas (10-4), 3; Merrimack (9-6), 2; Bow (11-1), 1.

The coaches poll is voted on by boys lacrosse coaches from around the state and members of the media. Next week’s poll will be released on Monday and will be the final poll until after the end of the playoffs.
