Pinkerton moves into the top spot in this week’s New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Boys Lacrosse Coaches Poll

The Pinkerton Academy boys lacrosse team ended one streak for Bishop Guertin with the Astros’ win last Monday, and they took care of another one this week in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll.
Pinkerton received 14 of 15 first-place votes to take over the No. 1 spot in the poll, snapping Bishop Guertin’s streak of 50 straight polls in the top spot. The Astros are No. 1 for the first time since the final poll of the 2019 season, while the Cardinals received one first-place vote and finished at No. 2.
Bedford and Exeter held on to third and fourth, respectively, as they’ll prepare to play the top two teams this week. The Blue Hawks will visit Bishop Guertin on Monday while the Bulldogs go to Pinkerton on Wednesday.
Winnacunnet jumped two spots to No. 5 this week pushing Portsmouth and Derryfield down a spot to Nos. 6 and 7, respectively. The Warriors handed the Cougars a loss last week and control their own destiny in regards to the top seed in D2.
Londonderry remained at No. 8 for the second week in a row while Dover returned to the top 10, coming in at No. 9 after dropping out last week. For the second week in a row, Coe-Brown finished at No. 10 round out the poll.

- Coe-Brown (11-0), 16, 10th
Dropped out: Windham.
Also receiving votes: Merrimack (8-4), 15; St. Thomas (9-3), 11; Windham (7-6), 1, 9th.
The coaches poll is voted on by boys lacrosse coaches from around the state and members of the media. Next week’s poll will be released on Tuesday due to the holiday.
