Playoff Picture: D2 Boys and Girls Basketball (Feb. 28)

The regular season is done for Division II boys and girls basketball and the playoff pairings are set to be released Monday by the NHIAA.

But who wants to wait until then? Here is our best guess at what the brackets will look like when they are released.

Note: With the NHIAA’s 70-percent rule in place for the postseason, Division II boys and girls will have 14 teams in the playoffs. Standings based off results reported to NHIAA.org and other media outlets. These are not official.

• Merrimack Valley (0.3333) wins the tiebreaker with Souhegan (0.2976) thanks to a better quality of wins against tournament teams.
• In a four-way tiebreaker, Milford gets the higher seed over Lebanon, Sanborn and Kingswood for having a win over the other three teams in the tiebreaker, despite not all four having played each other.
• In a three-way tiebreaker, Sanborn (0.7273) and Lebanon (0.6154) finish ahead of Kingswood (0.3333) thanks a better rating against tournament teams.
