There has been lots of movement on one side of the state this week, while on the other, the top four teams look like their pulling away.

Here’s an update on the standings for American Legion senior baseball.

District A

  1. Bedford (11-1)
  2. Lebanon (9-2)
  3. Sweeney (9-4)
  4. Milford (8-4)

In contention: Plymouth (8-6), Goffstown (4-5), Concord (4-7).

All but out: Laconia (1-7).

Eliminated: Keene (1-9), Justras (1-11).

Three wins in a row by Milford – including a 10-2 win over Sweeney – has helped Post 23 move into the top four, while Plymouth lost twice this week to fall out. … One of those loses was a 3-2 defeat at Bedford on Monday. Post 54 followed that with an 11-2 win over Laconia for its 11th victory in a row. … Bedford will have a chance to avenge its only loss Friday as it hosts Sweeney, which has dropped two of its last three games. … Meanwhile Lebanon has won four in a row and five of six to move up to second place in the standings.

District B

  1. Rochester (11-1)
  2. Exeter (10-3)
  3. Londonderry (9-4)
  4. Nashua (8-4)

In contention: Hudson (5-5), Dover (5-5).

Work to do: Merrimack (3-6), Derry (3-7), Portsmouth (3-9).

Eliminated: Salem (0-13).

No change from Monday as to the four teams in the tournament, but Exeter has bounced back from a two-game skid to win four in a row and jump over Londonderry for the second spot. … Rochester’s win streak is now at seven games, with the latest victory coming against Londonderry, which had won four of five, on Thursday. … Nashua helped create some separation with a 9-1 win over Hudson on Thursday. Those two teams play against on Friday. … Of teams not currently in the top four, Dover might have the best shot leaping over some teams. Post 8’s next five games are against teams with a combined 9-41 record, but then Dover finishes the season with two games against Rochester and one at Nashua.
